About Janelle...
Janelle Simms moved to Seattle in 2014 to pursue a graduate degree in Arts Leadership from Seattle University. Previously, Janelle has lived and worked in the Chicago-area, and served as the Membership and Development intern at the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) and the Association of Architecture Organizations. She also assisted with several of CAF’s special events, including their annual Gala and first annual Loop-based architectural Scavenger Hunt.
Prior to living in Chicago, Janelle attended The Ohio State University and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and minored in Psychology. She also held an internship in Government Relations at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During her time at Nationwide Children’s, she assisted with the planning of their highly regarded 2012 Candidates Forum on Children and Youth, where state and local legislators were invited to speak about children’s health issues. Janelle has also served on the Board of Directors for the ROY G BIV Gallery, and managed their grant writing efforts remotely, until early 2015.
